Pros

The best reasons to work for citigroup are the training, which is extensive and the employee benefits. Until the last few years, company growth and new job potential was a big factor for liking the company. The one good thing hat has come about recently is that it appears that we are finally starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel and the company may be stabalizing

Cons

Downsides are the uncertainty and the cutting back everywhere within the company. WHen I first started there was flexiblity in terms of employee bonus and recruiting. That is no longer an option for either. Watching the company stock fall to the sub $1 range

Pros

-technology is high-tech. geared towards automation vs manual labor. -not too stringent environment with a casual ambiance (cant say for other depts though) -great training ground -company with a global presence. brand recognition. -involved in outreach projects

Cons

-lousy salary & benefits. philippine local banks give better compensation packages. -uneven salary brackets. officers holding the same title have different salary brackets because they work for different departments. -too political. -support departments (eg human resources, compliance) are useless -top level managers are spoiled (eg personal/private bankers get too much bonuses/perks)

Pros

Career Opportunities, Decent benefits. It is a very large corporation so this is tons of opportunities for other positions in other divisions of the company and around the US and around the World. I have found that most branches of the company have happy employees which i think makes for a happier environment to work in. Management is usually good about letting employees take personal time to deal with life and personal issues. They also work with tellers if they have school schedules and are really accommodating to students. They also offer a tuition reimbursement program to help employees pay for college.

Cons

You have to meet sales goals, no matter what your position is at the bank. Unless you work in a support area, Such as IT or back office positions for processing. Sales goals get a bit strenuous at times especially during the slow times of the year. If you work as a teller do not expect to large bonuses because you don't. Personal bankers and Management get the largest bonuses. I feel that the least recognized position with the company would have to be the tellers and they do a lot of the work for the company over all. Just my opinion.
