Pros

Great to have holidays off, great vacation time and benefits

Cons

goals get more and more unattainable on a quarterly level. There is always a new 'focus' or 'hot product'. The company needs to focus on their performance management from a new standpoint. some of the tools they have to determine how someone is performing their job is very counterproductive.

Pros

Citizens offers great benefits. There are many opportunities for career advancement.

Cons

Weekends are required if you work in a branch. Citizens is very agressive about its sales goals. Some new employees are not aware of this when coming aboard, and it is a shock for some people.

Please read - Long, but honest

Pros

The benefits were pretty ok.

Cons

This is a long read but it's honest. Please read - especially if you are a POC* I worked at Citizens for a little over a year. I worked on the Talent Acquisition team under the HR Business function. My experience working there started out incredible. I was so happy to work every day. But, it quickly turned sour. Within my first 6 months of employment, four members of my team left. I later discovered that they left due to poor management, lack of training, and discrimination. I was put under an immense amount of pressure and my workload was unbearable. I worked a minimum of 14 hour days. My sleep pattern was awful. I was so stressed from work that my hair began to fall out - so much so that I ended up cutting it off. I was unsupported by management and my Stakeholders. Almost every day I would end my day in tears from being berated and belittled by my manager. A visiting friend of mine overheard the way my manager spoke to me during one of our 1:1s that made me very upset and led me to cry. My friend commented that she had never heard a manager speak so badly to an employee. There were members of my leadership team that I later discovered were speaking negatively about about me behind my back. They used me to get work done before the holidays and then presented me with an option that ultimately forced me to leave. I was essentially quiet fired. The leadership that I worked under and my Stakeholders within the CM&A/Commercial groups were despicable. It was painfully obvious that there was nothing I could have done to satisfy them. They had impossible expectations. And, as much as they spoke on wanting to diversify Citizens, their efforts to hire POC were null and void. This group made it very clear to me that they did not want POC in their space. I was not the only POC that endured their bullying and discrimination. It was disgusting and quite frankly unforgivable. I will never recommend anyone work here. And, it's disheartening. Because what started out as a wonderful opportunity became one of the worst experiences of my life. I STRONGLY urge the ELT to evaluate that group. There have been several complaints about them over the years and nothing has been done. They are a clique of "mean girls" fueled by prejudice and malice.
