Really bad experience after my company bought by citizens

The private mortgage company (FAMC) I worked for was purchased by citizens. A key member of the data transition team quit near the beginning of the transition. Immediately afterwards, several members of the transition team including myself were given raises as an incentive to stay. Once the transition was complete, the raise did not show up on my paycheck. When I went to my boss to inquire about this, he had me close the door and informed me that upper management had denied the raise he had told me was a done deal, and he was really sorry. The timing was extremely suspect. Fortunately I was able to leave soon thereafter.
