Pros

Although the stipend is low you will receive money towards your education at the end of your service. It is also very rewarding

Cons

The stipend is really low so you have to learn to budget well and the hours are extremely long so it seems like you do way more work for how much you are compensated.

Pros

The feeling that you're helping underprivileged communities and children. While the organization isn't great, their mission is noble and generally well intentioned.

Cons

Very frustrating internal politics. Frequently, top level decisions were not well communicated and explained. Often forced to take on projects without a clear purpose.

Pros

Positive results by improving the community. Being able to network with large corporations, city officials, and celebs. Scholarship after completing required hours. Free T/bus passes.

Cons

Low low pay (granted it's volunteer work, it's not enough to pay for rent and food!) Wearing the same clothes everyday.
