Pros

The pay isn't bad but could be much better. The 401k match and the yearly Employer contribution to 401k are the best benefits is probably the best thing they offer (if you stay around long enough to get it). Everything else is very standard and expensive. Even their time off plans are outdated.

Cons

If you are not building the buildings or making money for Clark, they do not care about you more than legally mandated. (Even though they treat their Craft employees like they are not able to learn any skills beyond their normal day-to-day job. But that is another story...) Their 'culture' isn't culture, it is outdated work 'rules'. If you are a good employee, that looks for efficiencies, and to make things more legal and updated. FORGET IT. They won't let you. If you are efficient in your job, they will just keep piling it on, even taking it from others to give to you. Even other departments. You won't get a raise for this, or a title bump. There is a TON of turnover, especially with employees that actually know what they are doing, because they burn them out. Also, due to the turnover, they rarely get rid of the staff who aren't pulling their own weight, and in some instances promote them because there isn't anyone else. Many of the managers, directors, etc should not be managers (again promoting those that stay they shouldn't...which after years is into even the VP level- think Finance, HR, Tax, Risk, etc). Those who are in the office longer will get promoted, even if they are not working. They equate Butt in seats as Productive Work, and if they can't see you, you are not working. I made it years longer than my predecessors because I was hoping that once I proved myself... forget it. They don't care. They don't care about YOU, only what you can do for them.

Pros

Free concert tickets in DC area. Great reputation. Complex, interesting projects. Looks good on resume.

Cons

Very difficult work/life balance. Not recommended for families with young children, particularly working moms. Intimidation-based management. No collaboration. No mentorship.

Pros

People at Clark are smart and hardworking. Fairly competitive compensation.

Cons

So many cons... - They tell you they don't believe in work/life balance - They can't hold on to mid-career professional (best for entry level) folks prepared to work hard for 1-2 years and leave for green pastures. - Chronically understaffed. Most people here are overworked and miserable. - Immature, unethical personalities in leadership, but they're protected - Secretive, distrustful culture and too preoccupied with protecting the company's reputation
