Pros

Some vacation perks. Classic does provide a lot of travel rewards, so if you are lucky enough to receive one you will stay at some of the most amazing properties and locations in the world. Good PTO/Vacation benefits, as well as some other Expedia perks, but nothing that most larger companies don't also offer, so could be more competitive There is often free catered lunches, provided by partners The CEO is pretty good. He is accessible to anyone in the company and has a fairly open-door policy which is refreshing. You will often see him mingling about the call center, being quite jovial with staff. If you are looking for something right of college or a job that doesn't require a lot of education, this is a good place to work for a short time, then move on.

Cons

Rampant cronyism and unaccountable leadership team No upward mobility/extremely limited career advancement Low compensation packages Very little to no innovation/resistant to change/new ideas

Pros

Most of the systems used are proprietary so you learn almost everything on the job. Management is interested in cultivating growth and making certain those interested in receiving opportunity for career growth are on the right path. Vendors often bring trinkets and provide lunch for the entire company which is pretty nice. The product is fun since you get to look at hotels all day and daydream of visiting them (opposed to working with computer chips or something boring). Benefit package is great, you receive medical, dental, vision, travel reimbursement and wellness reimbursement.

Cons

The company does not pay on the high end of salary scale for the positions here. They do try their best to be competitive and maintain with in the median salary base for Silicon Valley. However; the company allows for a work life balance, some companies with higher salary base expect employees to be plugged in 24/7.

Pros

Demonstrated success... Classic Vacations started as a family-owned wholesale travel company over 30 years ago, that was purchased by Expedia in 2001, and has grown to be one of the most respected and award-winning companies in the travel industry. Over the last several years the company has doubled in size, and continues on that growth trajectory. Amazing Travel rewards ... within 6 months, you're eligible for hugely discounted insider rates at some of the world's most amazing resorts, plus the Reservations team is eligible for free training trips to Europe, Caribbean, Mexico, Tahiti, and lots more. In addition, we're always giving away fully-paid trips as prizes for all employees and you receive free Expedia "travel bucks" that increase the longer you stay with Classic. Award-winning ... year after year, consortia and hotel partners like AMEX, Signature and Virtuoso select Classic as their best, most customer focused partner in the industry. Walk into the lobby, and you'll see the awards lining the walls. Growth means Opportunity ... whether you are looking to work in Reservations, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Sales or IT we have it all under one roof here in San Jose. Since we're growing, it means that there are always opportunities to move within or between groups. In fact, I started my career at Classic in Finance, moved to Operations and am now managing the Reservations team. Comprehensive Training and Mentoring ... in every group, there folks committed to helping new hires learn the ropes quickly, and then teach them how to be successful over the long-run. For example, in Reservations we have 3-levels of mentor-ship: (1) we pair new folks with successful veterans, (2) conduct weekly 1:1's with dedicated sales coaching team, and (3) schedule ongoing training classes conducted by hotel, and industry partners like Four Seasons, Hyatt, Hilton, Starwood, Sandals, Marriott, AM Resorts, etc.

Cons

To be successful in the Reservations, you have to truly be willing to put in the time to learn and perfect your knowledge of some of the most fun, romantic, luxurious, and well-traveled destinations around the world.
