Pros

Great Benefits. Friendly peers. Nice offices. Philanthropic company owner.

Cons

Women in IT are underpaid unless they're in an upper management position. Most of the company doesn't care about IT, or they're not educated enough about IT to understand its function, so they think it's all "Help Desk." Management won't question/challenge anyone outside IT, or protect/defend anyone but themselves inside IT. Working from home is not allowed. Noisy and distracting open floor plan. Constant "manage by crisis" chaos. Backstabbing management that definitely plays favorites. Certain "leaders" in IT complain about their own team to upper management, instead of talking directly to team members about it. Can't trust management for fear of being fired if you even ask questions or want to discuss any concerns at all. The CIO fires people for disagreeing with her. Highest turnover I've ever seen in an IT department.

Pros

It’s a design build company so the offices are nice and they don’t cheap out on equipment or decor. Some of the construction projects are really cool so it’s fun to be associated with that. Lots of company events and great Christmas parties.

Cons

Don’t even think about coming here to work in IT. No one wants to, not the people currently here and no one interviewing. CIO always says she’s “been left at the altar many times,” and that we can’t attract or retain top talent. We used to be able to recruit until she got here and chased everyone away. She’s the least pleasant person I’ve ever worked with, and I’ve worked in some nightmare situations. Thanks for scaring off the full time talent and replacing them with consultants because no one wants to be here full time. There is no future for anyone in IT under this tyrant. I’m leaving the second I have an offer, and I can’t wait to dump this department and never look back. My health can’t handle any more.

Pros

Pay is above average but you earn every penny for the experience.

Cons

No real leadership or management. Constantly going from one crisis to the next. No real plan or employee guidance / mentorship. Think they are better than everyone else due to blowing gobs of money on extra safety signs and having a consistent painting scheme despite many reputable companies being around over 100 years who are great builders. Don't be fooled by the ratings - do you really think 7 employees on Jan. 4th, 2018 all logged in and gave 5-star ratings on the same day?? or the 5, 5-star ratings on Jan. 5th - Jan 7th, 2018??

Thank you for your honest feedback about your experience. New years do inspire many to leave honest feedback as they return form the holidays, so we’re very sorry if those posts appeared inaccurate or non-organic. To address your feedback openly, we are a business that works hard to deliver all of our projects safely, on time and on budget, so we have to remain creative and nimble on how to accomplish the tasks at hand. Sometime this causes chaos, but we don’t forget about those experiences. Our teams and leadership learn from each project and we’re committed to the continued evolution of how we support our employees and our clients. If you have other comments, questions or ways you think we can improve. Send us an email at feedback@claycorp.com.
