On this role:
My manager was unapproachable. I never felt that any feedback was truly listened to or taken seriously. The mindset was "that's just how things are here, we can't change that, sorry". Benefits are as described in the many other reviews here. There is almost nothing done for employee morale or culture. There is no desire to promote, or invest in current employees, they would much rather hire a new one. Employees will go on for several years with no raises or added benefits (good luck toughing it out 5 years for an extra week of PTO). No one seems happy to be at work or even interested, so of course new employees immediately want to leave. There is high-turn over in this role. Expect to work hard and all day juggling a heavy workload with little support.
All of that being said, I believe that some of the issues are specific to my position and team, so your experience will certainly vary. I would say overall the company definitely has systemic issues.
On the company:
The company is a mess. Communication is poor and responsibilities are fluid. I never worked directly with C-level execs, but my understanding was that the CEO micro-manages too much and is not open to feedback and different approaches. This is extrapolation based on what my superiors said. The in-house developed programs and platforms are terrible. Which is not objectively bad, since CH is not a tech company, but it leads to INSANE inefficiency and terrible UX and therefore lower productivity. There is a lot more to say about CH, but if you want any proof of that, look at these other reviews. Keep in mind that a lot of the 5-star reviews come in from the HR department.
Overall, I am sure that this is not the worst company in the world to work for, but working at CH was almost never an enjoyable experience; it was tolerable, at best.
