Pros

This was the best job I ever had….until James Clarke and Clarke Capital took over. Since then, things have been so dire that I’ve been trying desperately to leave. I finally succeeded and I couldn’t be more relieved; it’s been so long since I had a job where the CEO didn’t yell at the entire company that their valid concerns were “complete nonsense,” that mothers shouldn’t work, and that everyone here is childish and entitled.

Cons

-The CEO will scream at you about how lazy you are while refusing to acknowledge that the company has shrunk by 400 people since he took over and few roles have been backfilled, resulting in more uncompensated work for everyone -You will be told that work is the most important thing in your life and an employee who sold their dog so they had more time to work will be lauded as an exemplary employee -Healthcare will be switched to a new company that most major Utah businesses have investments with, causing employee insurance costs to skyrocket -A millionaire on a power trip will insist he is the most important person in your life

Pros

Everyone on my team is great: smart, fun to work with, professional and supportive managers. I've learned a ton in my role and have been given a lot of opportunity to grow. I really have loved working here up until recently.

Cons

The situation at the company has gone downhill since the takeover of Clarke Capital Partners. They have poor communication, no transparency, and make a lot of grandiose statements and promises they don't keep. The CEO is behind the times and out of touch with employees' needs. The past year has been very chaotic with a mass exodus of employees, layoffs, and now an extreme and poorly-executed shift in policy surrounding work-from-home and remote hiring. Leadership failed to anticipate the effect that a nationwide recession would have on its business, and instead of taking responsibility for its poor planning and bad investments (i.e., a giant new office building that nobody asked for), it's trying to blame employees and punish us by taking away benefits and perks.

Pros

Individuals and teams within the organization are all great & welcoming, employees are clearly focused on DEI and helping each other no matter what the problem is

Cons

The return-to-office mandate is unethical on so many levels, but the way the CEO handled questions and concerns was despicable. I have never witnessed anything more unprofessional or uncalled for in my entire career as the CEO of a major company telling his employees that their concerns about transportation, childcare, and mental health are "nonsense". James Clarke claims to be a champion of single mothers while ignoring that this move would disproportionately affect them, along with countless others who have disabilities, families to care for, and responsibilities that drove them to look for remote work in the first place. Much of the company was hired under the remote-first mantra from Clearlink, many of the company still is remote as they live outside the 50-mile radius from the new headquarters, but the CEO made it abundantly clear that he has no respect and in fact incredible disdain for anyone who chooses or needs to work from home. Avoid this company at all costs, it's a sinking ship.
