Pros

Helping patients and using your skills was rewarding. Some of the patients were nice and friendly.

Cons

Manager was a psychopath and a control freak. Played favorites with employees. Was working 12 hour shifts with no lunch break till the last hour, for like 10 minutes. You have to be at multiple places at once which is impossible. The nurse assistants (us) were severely understaffed. Was disrespected by other staff members and management, you're basically the bottom of the barrel and have take crap from everyone. Some of the patients treat you like their slaves, kick and punch you, abuse you etc. You basically wipe patients bottoms and do whatever they want because you are a slave even though most are capable of doing that themselves. This job is not for sensitive people. They treat you like garbage and pay almost nothing. They have you running around while other nurses are on Facebook or wasting time. There were too many to list. I advise people to not bother with this job. Rather be working at a store.

Pros

Great benefits and pay, tuition reimbursement is decent, great flexibility for medical appointments, work with great medical staff/physicians who will mentor.

Cons

Not great for providing ADA workplace accommodations, administration moves at a snail's pace, sometimes work understaffed or without properly functioning equipment due to "budget"which negatively affects patient care. There is a lot of ambiguity surrounding actual Cleveland Clinic policies and things that were just made up and mistaken for Cleveland Clinic policy. Also, the PTO system is horrible if you have a chronic medical condition or children.

Pros

Good health insurance and benefits

Cons

Dealing with doctors and long time employees with big egos is not pleasant. You need a tough skin to work here. They don't like new employees coming into their small world. You have to use your PTO for everything (sick days, appointments, holidays come out of your PTO, sent home for lack of work, etc.) You get points if your sick and call off, or leave work due to emergency, if weather is bad and can't get out of your driveway etc.
