Pros

Benefits are great. Management trust you with your work and gives you credit when necessary. Room for salary negotiation.

Cons

They let the clients dictate their employers. Management needs to back their own employers when time comes to that.

Pros

- Generous health benefits, 401k match - Has definitely changed for the better since undergoing several policy revisions around 2015 - Pleasant coworkers - Committed to writing solid code and following good code review practices

Cons

- WAY too hard of a focus on moving forward when legacy code is holding various parts of the company back - Constant states of panic about a bug or customer requirement, making employees begin to address said problem, then suddenly everyone above the developer paygrade stops caring and it becomes a non-blocking issue that is filed away as something to resolve in the future - Technology stack is all over the place - i.e., just for C# alone, there's a WinForms application kept "modern" by bolting web pages to it via CEFSharp, and those web pages are a hodge-podge of various frontend frameworks - There's a Confluence present, but an incredibly minuscule percentage of its pages are kept up to date and relevant to internal user's needs; this has created a company of people all holding onto information in their heads and in personal OneNote documents - No hope of career advancement unless you start taking work home with you (will be flatly denied by a HR representative of course, but it's definitely an unspoken requirement for going """above and beyond""") - No visible incentives outside of spot bonuses for support personnel, not even cost of living increases - When there were options for the company investing in your learning, the options were either restrictive or useless for developers

Thank you for your comments. Our products are definitely complex and the demands of the industry we are in are high. Our hyper-focus on customer service is one of the things that makes us a leader in our industry, but at times can cause some pain-points on the back end. I am sorry to hear you did not see opportunities for career growth. Clever Devices prides itself in giving our employees multiple avenues for growth and development. It has been the key to our stability over the years. I encourage you to contact HR to discuss where you feel there are gaps so we can look to make improvements for the future.
