      Discrimination, Failed Management

      Pros

      I wish I could say there were some pros, however, the only pro is that the benefits are great.

      Cons

      Discrimination at its finest. There is little to no diversity at the company. Failed management efforts with managers who either manage no one, or too large of a team. Any time you have a great employee that makes a difference in the company, they are mysteriously gone with no real explanation. We used to have great resources who cared about our growth, development and training. We have none of that anymore. Keep your denim days since we have to pay to wear the jeans. Keep your phony sessions that really do nothing for us. A mandatory 48 hour week for some and not for others in laughable. Consultants running departments is an insult to the employees as well. HR is a joke, no personality, no people skills and no real plans.

      Old school company

      Pros

      The mix of back-office and mobile devices makes for an interesting engineering challenge. The customers are all public utilities i.e. transit agencies, some can be fast others slow to respond to questions or new approaches.

      Cons

      Lower management is totally cowed, they will be fired if they point out even obvious problems. So at the working stiff level, you cannot expect any support. Just keep your mouth shut and do the best you can in a totally understaffed workplace. Don't miss the antique dress code-no blue jeans allowed. Or the mandatory 48 hour work weeks during 4th quarter every year. It is like a 20% pay cut. For the benefit of the 2 owners. But is there any bonus plan to compensate? Not a chance.
