Pros

The people are amazing. They are fun, happy and supportive.

Cons

If only working at ClickUp didn’t suck all the joy and positivity out of its great employees it would be great. There is a culture of toxic positivity and it’s getting worse. This was a wonderful place to work until they started micromanaging every single minute of your day, requiring work on all holidays, requiring weekend or overnight shifts regardless of your preferences, and on and on and on. There use to be endless growth opportunities and that’s what I was sold when I was hired. Recently all of that has been taken away and they even decided to hire leadership from outside the company because they didn’t want to promote the support team because they were backed up. There are so many shady practices that I can’t name them all. People are all starting to either leave or think about leaving and they’re about to have a bunch of mediocre employees. They don’t promote their best people so they will all leave. I will be looking for another job.

Pros

I have the pleasure of working alongside some wonderful colleagues, and the office offers fantastic views.

Cons

The CEO ( Zeb, not even his real name) draws inspiration from Elon Musk and his leadership style, which may appeal to those who admire Elon's approach. However, it's essential to consider the overall company culture and policies. Thumbs down. Tommy has been mentioned in previous reviews, and concerns about his behavior are valid. It's crucial to maintain a respectful and professional work environment for everyone. He has been known to engage in inappropriate behavior with subordinates, and brag about it, which is concerning. A first time CRO.... Will has made significant changes within the sales organization, including hiring many personal connections. A more transparent approach to team-building and advancement would have been better. All religious, white males are welcomed here. Best of luck to the few women we have left. Do not attempt to challenge him or his leadership/ideas in any way, it will not end well for you. Sam's management style has been criticized, and there is room for improvement in fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere for the sales team. He has faced challenges in gaining trust and popularity. He has neither from his reps, and you almost pity him because no one likes him. No one is safe from his wrath, which was apparent after the last round of layoffs. Independent thinkers may find it challenging to thrive in this environment, as the company tends to discourage any thoughts that differ from their own. Our quotas are unrealistic and not sustainable, which leads to excessive working hours with no proper compensation. Very few individuals are hitting and it is exhausting watching the dashboards. The only good thing is that no one on my team is hitting, so we are in it together. Balancing leads among the sales reps requires reevaluation to ensure fairness and equal opportunities for success. Some of us have gone weeks without a single ELT while others have them flooding in. Diversity and inclusion should be priorities, and efforts to create a more diverse workforce should be taken seriously. Product stability should be a priority, with a focus on enhancing performance, especially with larger user loads. Communication about layoffs and policy changes should be handled more respectfully and transparently to avoid misunderstandings and discontent.

Can't trust the CEO & CBO

Pros

Some of the best coworkers I've ever had. Company has a lot of potential. Even though the company is almost 1000 employees it still operates like a startup so there is lots of opportunity to take ownership, grow quickly, and do impactful work.

Cons

In May 2022, ClickUp laid off 7% of its team and our CEO said on that all hands call, "we will not do another layoff" (direct quote). In June 2023, ClickUp laid off 10% of its team and our CEO sounded and acted like a robot on that all hands call while sharing the news. No empathy. He is losing credibility and trust amongst employees. It's hard to trust what he says and he should not be the CEO. Also, he does not care about diversity. ClickUp is one of few tech companies to not give US-based employees the Juneteenth holiday. There are some amazing leaders at the company (SVP of Eng, VP of Product, Head of People, Head of Finance, VP of Solutions are all dynamite!). But unfortunately there are also some who lack experience and social skills (CEO and CBO) which negatively impacts the culture and employee morale. Perks are lackluster. Company-wide goals/OKRs are always changing. Still operating as a very very scrappy company.
