Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We're glad to hear that your transfer to another store went smoothly and that you're continuing your employment with us. We want to assure you that our stores have a well-defined management structure. Each store is led by a Store Manager, who oversees everything. They get support from Operations Managers, who look after several stores. In addition, we have Customer Team Leaders, or Supervisors, like yourself. You know firsthand how important this role is. As a key holder, you help keep things running smoothly, whether the manager is there or not. Our team leaders are there to support Customer Team Members, making sure they can give our customers the best experience. We genuinely care about our staff and their growth. Our management structure is designed to ensure everyone gets the attention and support they need. We value our employees and aim to create a positive and supportive work environment.

Pros

Good salary, easy(ish) job. When you get to know your way around the stores, things become easier.

Cons

Unpredictable work pattern. Told to assume every day will be a 12.45 and then told my hours on the day of my shift. Not sure that it's legal. They want to change the contract so that you will be planned on a minimum of 10.45 each day. If you work those hours it breaks your working time regulations. They get around that by sending you home early from runs throughout the week. You will go home up to 3 hours early but usually about an hour early some days if you're lucky, depends on how quickly you get your job done. Unpredictable because you never know if you'll be home in time to see your family or if you will be out all evening.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We understand your frustration and confusion. We’ve asked for clarity around your concerns, and we’ve been advised that negotiations on changes to contracts are still underway. Co-op will continue to remain compliant with the Working Time Directive. The confusion may arise from the discussion between your contracted hours versus your shift availability. We recommend that you speak with your union representative and your Transport Manager at West Thurrock for further information on what these proposals mean for you.
