Pros

The people are the most talented you will meet. There is a wonderful balance of having fun and working hard. You will be pushed to do the best work you've ever done.

Cons

Leadership can improve empathy. The top-down communication isn't very respectful.

Great Culture and People - CEO Can Ruin It

Pros

CoSchedule has some of the best people around. Their onboarding program is thorough and well thought out. They have a very structured development and release cycle. Their CTO, is a really great guy and leader. If you're primarily under him, that's where you want to be.

Cons

The only thing I struggled with at Coschedule was their CEO. He's smart and I rarely disagreed with what he was looking for, but I strongly disagreed with how he communicates. He is rude, talks down to people, doesn't listen, and it's his way or the highway. If you will report to him, I don't recommend working here. If not, then there are a lot of positives. Also, annual reviews and raises are basically non existent.

Pros

They give the impression that they care what employees need and want. There are a lot of good people working here. They did some fun activities.

Cons

Expect to put in a lot of hours, no matter what the founders say in the interviews. No matter how you ask and explain that you have a family life, they will indicate that they understand the need for balance. This is either delusions or outright lies. The problem is I have worked for companies that actually care about work/life balance. The dishonesty came out the longer I was employed. It is not evident that the hourly expectations where grossly different then stated, until I was the only one that left at a reasonable time every day and I did not take work home every day. This is not to say I will never work extra. I know there are busy times and I have worked a lot of hours to get something fixed or make a deadline. The issue at CoSchedule is that it can't be an emergency every single week.
