Pros

There are many opportunities for networking and a lot of scientific collaborations. Good Health insurance and benefits. there is supportive community for families, especially with little kids. The campus is beautiful.

Cons

The costs of living are very high, even more so in the better school district. There is a lot of focus on public relations, sometimes public relations come at the expense of science.

Beautiful natural environment, good academic programs, good benefit. Unique in a good way for raising up family, with day care on campus, and many activities for kids year around.

Cons

A little isolated location wise, maybe boring to some people who enjoy city life. Could be stressful for PIs with the needs to obtain enough funds to maintain the lab overhead and research expenses.
