Pros

Good place to polish your power point, blame-pointing and claim-grabbing skills.

Cons

Senior leadership, from IT to program to the very top tier, now fully reflect the solipsism and narcissism of the CEO.

Pros

The benefits: 4 weeks vacation, 403b, remote work options, etc are excellent. The hours are not long. Not very stressful. And the pay is competitive.

Cons

Very incompetent leadership. No upward mobility for non-executives. Leadership does not know how to take care of their teams. Weird mix of academics and pseudo-business types.

Great work life balance, insular culture, zero internal career path

Pros

As others mentioned - many of the benefits are hard to beat (13% employee match, beautiful offices, up to $15K per year college tuition for your children, strong work life balance, option to WFH one day a week). However, as of 2016 they will be scaling back on some of those benefits (for example, the match is going way down for new hires). People overall are very smart and very nice.

Cons

The work is pretty tedious and silo-ed. There is limited opportunity for growth. The organization gets sub-par employee engagement results year-over-year with little change. The organization is top heavy and hierarchical. I have never seen decision making power and autonomy rolled up at such a high level. You have to be an ED or above to really feel empowered. Even many Senior Directors have almost no ownership/power/autonomy and few if any direct reports. If you are at a point in your career where you are looking for flexibility and a relatively low-key job (which relatively high industry salary/benefits) where you are checking the box and working in a directive environment...and where you don't have any desire to be in a decision making place or even have visibility into decision making...this could work for you. If you are hungry to learn, take on more leadership, grow a team, sit on a leadership team...this is probably not a good fit.
