Pros

- Some agents truly make all the effort worth it. They are caring, kind, hilarious, and incredibly generous. - Benefits are free and rather comprehensive. - Free in office snacks and beverages. - If not working in head office, highly autonomous working environment. - Holly Worthington: I list her as a pro because if you are serious about real estate, she is an absolute resource with a wealth of knowledge.

Cons

- Blatant favoritism based on position and location - Unfair disparity of salaries between identical positions (>10K). - Real estate agents are appeased, frequently meaning staff are strained. - Lack of transparency. - Very limited growth opportunity, but that doesn't mean you'll be given plenty of work outside of your role. - Some agents are truly awful, that sounds petty but it's absolutely true. HR doesn't cover contractors, so you're often at their mercy.

Toxic and chaotic

Pros

I have a job for now

Cons

Since Coldwell Banker was purchased by this company one month ago there has been constant chaos. Mixed messages from leadership. Often on the same day. The environment has become toxic for employees. Agents are promised, then unpromised technology. No transparency. Just lies. Corporate employees were given 2 months to return to office full time. Marketing was given 2 weeks. Current owner has No respect for employees.

Instability and chaos

Pros

Fun coworkers, lively environment and great perks pre-IPO

Cons

Incredibly low pay, constant layoffs, regular changes to policies and the way teams are set up and work, changes to benefits packages and changes to in-office versus work from home policies. If you are looking for stability this is not the place. I watched as loyal, hard working tenured employees of 5-8 years were laid off year after year. They would say this was the last round of layoffs and 4 months later another team would be eliminated. Our beneifts package changed several times making it impossible to have a solid financial plan. They value profitability over people and it's a shame because at the beginning it was a wonderful place to work.
