Pros

None of the pros from my time there are any longer relevant. I once would have said "Great place to learn, invests in training, respects employees." That doesn't happen anymore. I once would have said "Stable place to work. No fear of losing job." But in the past few weeks several of my former colleagues have been let go. Even when I was there as recently as 2014 layoffs were starting to occur.

Cons

Unstable Nepotism Family dysfunction amongst the owner and children and between his children Outdated tech. When I was there in 2014 still using Rational suite, waterfall, it was just bad. Culture is old fashioned. Some people get chewed out for leaving 10 minutes early. Some come in when they feel like it and nobody cares. At the time I was there no work from home policy. Mandatory overtime for salaried employees. Compunetix pays worse than any salaried job I've ever had and required more mandatory overtime than any salaried job I ever had. I make 33% more now and have a much less hectic schedule.

Pros

Flexible time off. Free coffee. Ability to sell back extra paid time off hours.

Cons

No career progression. No future plan to bring back customers lost. No 401k???? Layoffs frequently. Facility is old and falling apart. No communication. No training. No respect as a human being. You will be treated poorly everyday your employment continues. This is not a company for long term growth. Lazy upper management. Customers are pulling out frequently and finding cost effective and professional solutions elsewhere.

Pros

Friendly environment Relatively low work pressure 40 hrs work week. Hardly ever needed to go overtime Debt-free and stable company. Never laid off anyone in the salaried employee category in 40 years Open communication. You could talk to CEO without going through hassles Laid back work environment Flexible hours (within reason of course) Easy commute from anywhere in the city Flexibility in creativity when it comes to assignments Company actively supports training for employees

Cons

Salary is below par compared to other tech establishments around Limited scope for advancing career (Positions have been dearly held by the senior mgmt for years) Technology used not at par with cutting edge tools. Makes it difficult to switch out of this company No retirement plans. Arguably, other employee profit sharing plans make up for it.
