Good people; strong business; atrocious talent mgmt.
Pros
Largely comprised of good people just looking to do their best work. On par salaries for industry, great benefits.
Cons
There’s a glass ceiling to getting into a “Band 3” position. Highly favors the in crowd/fan favorites vs top performers. Once you make 3, they own you and move you around like a GM of a baseball team would trade players - into roles you know nothing about. This truly serves no one. Destroys morale for those now teaching their bosses how to do basic skills in their own area of expertise. This leads to burn out, resentment and way too much required OT (again bc those above 3 must heavily rely upon their teams to be constantly on call /supporting them). Terrible strategy for retaining and developing top talent and recognizing their unique skill sets (not everyone is meant to do everything).
