Pros

PTO, day time work hours, some positive work experience in the industry gained but not much. Different carriers to represent.

Cons

Everything! Management is incompetent. The company hires managers from the outside that doesn’t have a clue about the non-standard industry. I applied for a management position and was told that I wasn’t qualified but I am certifying at the highest level of sales and I show interest in advancement and have leadership abilities. Management decides to promote people that have only been with the company for 6 months that doesn’t have a clue about anything and that messes up a lot of policies. To add they lack management capabilities. The company changed the commission structure that is designed to pay agents less money. The company thinks that no one is smart enough to realize it. All complaints brought to employee relations are turned around to make it seem as if employees are causing problems when it’s management. Employee Relations is clearly on management’s side and do not have the best interest of employees at heart. The company doesn’t offer any pay increases. No matter how hard you work or how much you sell they do not offer any raises or incentives for employees. There are some employees that have worked for the company for 4 plus years that still hasn’t received any increases since they started. I would not recommend working for this company at the agent level. It is a waste of time and you cannot make a lucrative income.

Complete Mess

Pros

Some of the people that you work with are real good people. The only thing that made the job almost bearable is having good people around you. Also being able to share the same disgust for the work environment and incompetence coming from California was a plus. I guess a pro could be that I have now learned exactly how not to run a company or treat employees.

Cons

Amateur hour running the show in California HQ. They need stuff yesterday and when you need something from them they ignore then proceed to mess everything up. Its similar to letting elementary school kids play adult. They assume they know all. You could present to them the greatest idea or a perfect resolution to a problem then they will take it, send it to the bathroom for an hour or so, then come back with a steamy load and say they fixed it. So now you are having to fix another problem they caused. All while trying to do 5 peoples jobs and being paid close to nothing. I could go on forever as could 99% of the employees. They keep buying companies while the current business is barely staying afloat. I was going to say barely keeping the lights on but that night hit a little close to home as they arent the best at paying bills in a timely manner.
