Pros

Extensive vendor list to resell from. Flexible home office work schedule. Many nice people to work with

Cons

More of a commodity reseller. Too much focus on selling to Purchasing department and competing with low margin. Lack the depth of technical expertise to be a strong competitor in the data center space.

We agree with your comments regarding our work environment. However, we are not a commodity business. We solve business problems using a complex mix of hardware, software, services, and intellectual knowledge. Our salespeople help bring to market our plethora of resources to delight our clients and solve business issues. The Company has invested more technical resources to execute against our role as a National Solutions Provider. We have increased headcount 10% in our Technology Solutions Group companywide, year over year, as well as investing in a Technical Sales Executive Sales organization in 2015.

Pros

Some of the people you work with are really awesome and fun, showcases can be entertaining, good for people who pretty much have no lives and all they want to do is work to further their career.

Cons

Management showed a total lack of respect and no appreciation for work put in. Micromanaging is enough to drive someone mad, especially if their manager dials in remotely. Expectations are unrealistic, and they are not flexible. Even as salary, you have to clock in and clock out. Extremely outdated business model and poverty line pay for the industry. Rigid environment, extremely right wing. Feels more like you are on a nanny cam while at work than anything else. Not understanding of work-life balance unless you are high enough in the totem pole, otherwise you are considered disposable. I have never felt so demoralized in my life but I kept at it with a smile on my face to provide for my family. I would never in a million years recommend someone work here.

We don't believe that this employee's experience is typical of what the vast majority of employees currently working here would say. We continuously hear how people speak glowingly of the culture and the company's approach to fostering a work environment where all employees are valued.

Pros

MoreDirect provides plenty of internal resources to assist outside Sales team when in the field. In addition, there are some very smart folks working at this company, they're always ready and willing to help. The entire sales team, both inside and outside, work virtual. Also, the company will give you a draw for the first year while you ramp up.

Cons

Sales management is short sighted, this is the nature of the reseller business. You are not encouraged to pursue larger deals as they take to long to close. Again, this is the nature of this business, close as many smaller deals as possible so you can get "numbers on the board". The pressure is unbelievable. Although you get a draw during the first year, if you are not producing by then be prepared to get written up.

We are pleased to learn that you have the resources to be successful in your role. More Direct will continue to invest in more resources to enable our sales teams to have success. Some of the investments made by the Company in Technical Resources and systems are strategic in nature and will help enable us to continue to have success over the long term. While we recognize that some sales engagements have longer gestation periods, the nature of our business does–as you indicate–require you to build relationships early and to leverage our resources to bring on new customers and gain a larger share of wallet of existing customers.
