Pros

Great teachers and great to work with when you actually do Good leadership Work from home

Cons

- Pay is AT LEAST $8k+ lower than a comparable teacher... but you "work from home..." so you don't have to pay for clothes or wear & tear on your car - Benefits are expensive and not fully covered like other districts - They used COVID-19 to enroll more students, didn't provide more pay for the 20+ extra students per class - Little time off when you start and you don't get a sub... soooo its extra work the day you get back - Pearson shareholders are more important than students - No union - I have a hard time believing anyone above the state director is actually in it for children - You ultimately work for Pearson, who is a questionable company - They're talking about not awarding raises/bonuses next year because of government funding, even though Pearson made a lot of money last year (CEO made well over $6m) - Many of the students have failed at other schools, so you will have a lot of students and parents who aren't invested in their schooling - working from home can actually be pretty boring if you are a teacher and are used to talking with students and staff on a daily basis

Pros

The training they have implemented for teachers at the high school level is very thorough. My supervisor made sure we go over tasks that we will come across on a daily basis at INCA. I felt very prepared when I was out on my own. The staff is super encouraging and welcomes all questions.

Cons

There are a lot of new things that teachers are not used to doing if they taught at a brick and mortar school. These tasks are not necessarily bad, but learning to balance all of the job requirements can be difficult at first, but it is not impossible.
