Upper management needs insight

Pros

Competitive base salary, no bonus, ok benefits but not a large company so loss of numbers for health insurance premiums. Unless starting at the opportune time, there is a up to a year wait for 401K and 6 months for ESPP.

Cons

Management has no clue about employees or their work and satisfaction. Some new VP level management, talked to vendors about how Copart is making cash hand over fist (in more derogatory terms that Glassdoor does not allow). How unprofessional to talk to top notch vendors, especially if you are trying to get the best discount. Personal opinion says that some of the VP and above management are above their ability. A VP should not be looking at configurations, should have confidence in the employees doing the work.

Thanks for your post--I wanted to point out that, as an organization, we DO listen to our employees and have just completed an Employee Survey in which employees were asked to voice their opinions about working for Copart as well as asked to provide input into what areas they felt we did well and what areas needed the most attention. The data from the survey will soon be shared with ALL employees and we will be looking to our employees at all levels of the organization to help improve the workplace. Workloads are extremely high

Pros

I like my work due to my coworkers. There is a team atmosphere and the pay is good. Also like the location.

Cons

They would rather over work their current staff than hire in additional employees. Time off is difficult due to staffing and one person out creates a lot more work for the coworkers. Management doesn't really care and prefers quantity over quality.

Upon reading your feedback I have asked our Regional HR Manager in your area to look into your concerns. While there are times in our business where employees may be asked to work extended hours to cover workload, Copart staffs its yards based on volume and strives to balance the number of employees with the demands of the business without overstaffing (which would likely result in layoffs as business leveled out) or significantly understaffing (leading to potential burnout as workload surged for extended periods of time). If you feel you are being treated in an unprofessional manner I would also encourage you to reach out to your GM or Regional HR Manager for assistance. Rory Seidens VP, Human Resources
