Pros

Always something to do. Busy and face paced work place. Always under the gun. They host one hell of a party for employees.

Cons

Lack of proper training. No support from Regional Manager or other General Managers. Expected to know every aspect of your job plus everyone under you. Sent to GM training 8 months after taking the GM position. Was told that my performance was not acceptable 2 weeks after returning from GM training.

Pros

Great company to grow with. Really. One of the most secure organizations in the DFW area to work for. Financials are spectacular, checkout the stock price. It's nearly doubled in the past 2 years. With the international market advancing, growth potential is comparable to a startup. All of IT leadership come from a high pedigree. Take a glance at LinkedIn profiles. You can see each department head has a proven track record with house-hold name companies, or rose through the ranks within the organization. Both indicators of a solid culture. Most companies aren't willing to take a chance on people. I've you're looking to take that next step up in your career, Copart might be the ideal place for you.

Cons

Some people love startups...others can only function in a Fortune 500. Just know that Copart IT resembles more of a startup culture. If you're not up for a fast paced environment (no really...I mean it) Copart will likely not be a fit for you. Unlike other companies I've been part of, senior leadership closely monitors performance - at all levels. So yes, that means a measurable minority can't cut it and are redeployed, as evident by some Glassdoor reviews. On the other hand, I've personally seen just as many, if not more, individuals promoted all the way up to Director or even VP ranks. In either case, the writing was on the wall the vast majority of the time. Top-tier talent and a solid work ethic are MUST HAVES. Just know you're going a fast paced organization.
