Pros

My dept. always tried to stick to a 40-hour work week and eased into new projects after a major project was complete. In other words, the IT management would try to give a bit of a breather after a major project was finished before jumping into a new project to allow the workers to decompress and prevent them from getting burned out. Requests for time off due to personal reasons were fairly considered and honored, when feasible. When additional hours were worked, comp time was loosely accrued. This was at the discretion of the manager but overtime was generally honored with time off.

Cons

Copart does not pay well and this is very common knowledge. The location of Copart on the north side of the Carquinez and Benicia bridges allows them to attract employees that do not want to cross those bridges - and will accept lower pay not to do so. The benefits are some of the worst you will see, with expensive premiums and below-average options. The retirement plan matching is a low 10%. Every employee is replaceable in the eyes of senior management. The executives would sooner struggle with under qualified personnel than to give in to an employee wanting compensation.
