Pros

The work that you do with residents/inmates can be rewarding

Cons

Poor management not following proper policy and procedures and forcing their employees to follow rules that haven't been properly documented. Poor hiring practices. They have a tendency to hire individuals not suited to the position they were hired for.

Pros

If I could leave no stars I would. Frankly other than training off site there are no redeeming qualities

Cons

LOW pay, poor training and hostile work environment. It is dog eat dog work environment with the majority of people lasting 30 days in the positions. Inmates are treated badly as are the staff. They are pitted against each other and encouraged to beat each other down emotionally. A culture of hostility is encouraged. Don't expect time off and expect all vacation to be refused. More contracted employees work in the facility than local hires. They want you to believe they are there to help, however they are building defense against anything unfavorable anyone might present that is unfavorable after that people are suddenly dismissed. Watch your back here. I state only my experience while employed and quit due to the environment and people. They are not helpful or willing to help make new employees transition easily into a stressful and dangerous environment.
