Pros

Aside from working with a few great colleagues, there were no structural or organizational positives worth highlighting

Cons

Cornerstone has become a deeply disappointing company to work for. The organization steadily declined due to poor leadership, ongoing restructuring, and an unhealthy internal culture. The biggest contradiction is the company’s constant public messaging about “Internal Mobility”. While Cornerstone promotes Internal Mobility as a core value, entire teams were laid off without any meaningful HR support. There was no structured process to match employees to open positions, no reskilling or upskilling programs, and no effort to redeploy experienced staff. Instead, large-scale layoffs became an annual pattern, severely damaging morale. Compensation also worsened the last years. Leadership set increasingly unrealistic targets, which directly reduced bonuses year after year. This further demotivated teams and highlighted the lack of accountability at the leadership level. Meanwhile, executive spending continued unchecked. For example, the lavish Sales Kickoff event in Bali in early 2026, complete with luxury accommodations for senior executives, stood in sharp contrast to the cost-cutting measures imposed on employees. It clearly reflected an unethical, self-serving culture that prioritizes executive perks over employee stability and development.

Thank you for sharing such a candid and deeply felt perspective. The concerns you raise around internal mobility, restructuring, compensation, shifting targets, and the visible disconnect between messaging and lived experience reflect real gaps that have had a meaningful impact on trust and morale. We’re actively working to rebuild that trust by strengthening how internal mobility actually functions, improving transparency around goals and compensation, and tightening the governance and communication surrounding major decisions (including spending and organizational changes). Efforts across redeployment support, learning pathways, and clearer, more predictable processes are part of that work, and feedback like yours helps reinforce where focus must remain. I also understand the perception of events like our Sales Kick Off. While we had made commitments and expenditures in advance for these activities that we could not recoup, we did our best to ensure that budgets were optimized and that spending was reduced where possible. Events like these are crucial for getting our GTM and customer-facing teams prepared for a successful year, but as with anything, we continue to aim to execute in a responsible way as we steward our resources well. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. If you have other specific feedback, reach out any time. --Carina Cortez
