Pros

+ A culture that focuses on the individual and not just a business exchange + Good benefits and still offers pensions + Opportunities to grow and choose your own career path + Exciting new technology

Cons

- Work life balance can be rough, depending on position - There is still a semi-strong focus on appearance instead of performance - Sometimes there is too much competition/judgment among technical groups

Pros

The company offers a combination of Pension, 401k, and broad reaching Health Plan, in a sense family focused group of benefits. Production hourly employees are the most protected in a cost reduction program that materializes from time to time. That was my level. The management is polite, swearing is not permitted, and there are effective means to complain about a issue.

Cons

It is an environment that is looking for hourly standards of production and is racing to implement computerized systems in all production avenues, that monitor each station, downtime, break time and so on. The company has a 40 minute total time for breaks, on the production floor, most areas its a 10 min morning 20 min. lunch and 10 min afternoon, where you are back to station by the last minute. The is social engineering in play to penalize smoking, but it is still permitted in a designated area outdoors the cost of your health plan is increased for smoking. Promotions are difficult, you have to get involved in volunteering in extra projects to get credits, and have a company first attitude. A large population of employees find their niche and stay with the company/plant for career lifetime. This plant runs clean rooms requires gowning with beard guards hair bonnets in all production areas.

Pros

Great place to learn and grow career wise.

Cons

Everyone in the department and most in the building work through an agency. Seldom opportunity to become a permanent employee.
