Pros

Hands down the best company culture. We are given so many tools to succeed, to be our best, and to truly be ourselves. Even while the company is rapidly growing they have the right people in the right place to ensure everything goes as smooth as possible.

Cons

Is loving what you do too much considered a con?

Pros

Commission & Bonus Structure were fair and made up for the low base salary

Cons

As an onsite staff person, Cortland Partners has high turnover of Property Manager's and leasing agents because managing the expectations of your VP, Regional Manager, AND most importantly your resident is virtually impossible. You will have little to no support when it comes to the difficult decisions necessary that make your residents upset but are inevitable. Upper level management is run by a leader who is emotional, impulsive, and rushes to judgment. I say this because although residents drive revenue, onsite leasing staff is paramount. Without you, business wont run effectively and you need upper level management who support and understand that. They do not. Long term, if Cortland Partners institutes a requirement that VP's and Directors visit properties and work onsite regularly it may bridge the gap between expectations and reality.
