Pros

Honestly a great pace to work, the don't micro manage you and you get to literally be yourself, you are surrounded by thee best management team and they are always willing to teach and help you grow, company is still growing but they are really great

Cons

They have extended the hours up until 8 clock at night, most of us with children and families is very hard and with the time change it can be a little dangerous having someone either women or men in an office at night alone, they should of waited until after spring 2017 to take in effect or at least ask everyone too see if we all approved or have a vote on it, they just shoved those hours and dint think about us the employees, and for them its ok because most have the 9 to 5 hours and go home to their families even if some would say oh I also work at home, exactly you are at home, then it was said that they would hire a part timer to take over the hours but that has not happened, I mean ok Cortland wants to be different we get it but the crazy hours you have us working from Monday to Thursday is just not fair, no one thought about the families that need us too, and also the fact the only company that does not give you a Christmas bonus, because they feel they pay us enough, they make money with high priced apartments but do not have thee greatest medical package for us or I should say no benefits,

We are always glad to hear that we are an awesome company from any of our associates! It sounds like the Florida management team feels like family. We want to make sure you always feel supported and empowered, so you can find your stride and success here! Thank you for expressing your feedback on extended work hours, bonus plans and benefits. Because of our growth, we are trying to think of solutions for our associates to always be readily available for our current and future residents. Since we are a service oriented business, we thought to extend a few more hours a week. The majority of our communities were already opened until 7pm a minimum of 2 days a week before extending to 8pm 4 days week. We hoped only adding 1 or 2 hours a day would not negatively impact our community associates as a whole. Management has been instructed to schedule 2 people on site and opened part-time positions to provide greater flexibility and to strategically staff to busy periods. We do not believe many competitors give holiday bonuses, but rather hosting a team lunch, giving holiday treats or holiday grocery gift cards. We enjoy hosting a nice, cocktail holiday party for our community associates because we feel it is super important to engage with our executive and support teams and to recognize our superstar associates every year. We want to make sure you are aware of the resources we have in place for you to share your thoughts with those who can address them on a more strategic level. Cortland believes that our associates are what makes us successful, so we want to make sure you feel fully supported in any concern. We have an open door policy with our executive team. Our EVP of Operations, Melanie French, is happy to hop on the phone with you to discuss your concerns. She is proud of your commitment, high-performance, and innovation we expect from our associates – but that expectation should never be at the price of your well-being or career satisfaction. I also encourage you to reach out to our Talent Resources team to discuss your thoughts on our benefits changes. We compared our healthcare plan to the top five multifamily companies based in Atlanta (other than Cortland) to make sure our plan was better and more robust than our competitors’ plans. Our benefits team would be more than happy to walk you through the specifics of our healthcare plan and the ways you can save money and take advantage of all it offers our associates. We appreciate your feedback. Keep vocalizing your pros and cons to your managers and support teams. It will helps us to continue to keep our associates happy and to improve our company culture.

Pros

About the only pros to this company is the other service techs you work with .

Cons

This was probably the worst company I've worked for as far as having shady management. Everything is all about the budget . Ot non existent , an makes it rough on service members when they have to leave early because the company is to cheap to pay overtime , an leaves the other guy working even harder on a 2 man property. I'm glad I don't work for this unprofessional company anymore
