Pros

Great coworkers at the community level. Benefits.

Cons

No job security. Company lays off great, hardworking people every year. Just layed off more than half the staff at every installation because they thought they would find better people to work for less pay. Didn't find better so ended up begging employees to stay after first telling them they didn't qualify to interview for #the new jobs# created. The jobs weren't new for employees who gave years of their time making the company look good and taking care of troops. Slapped in the face, many long time employees walked away and didn't fall for the last minute begging. Neighborhood centers had to close because staffing is low. Military families who live on post getting short end of stick. No staff to give customer service. Management, corporate team and HR can't be trusted. Business decisions that impact the lives of the worker bees made willy nilly from behind corporate desks. Many of them have no clue what its like to take care of military families. Relied on us to make them look good. Laying off worker bees every year while sending emails announcing the hiring of some new corporate vice president or director of this or that.

We appreciate the time you took to provide your feedback. Our partnerships are 50-year programs and we need to evolve as the changing needs of our partnerships evolve. One of the goals in our restructure plan was to introduce new roles to elevate our military housing program while also striving to make our programs more sustainable and resilient. The new roles do require different qualifications than prior ones. In addition to new roles, we have changed reporting structures and the way work is divided across positions. In some cases this includes changes to the way a location may be staffed. As we went through this transition, we communicated openly to those impacted along the way, we followed a process that evaluated all applicants, including existing employees, against the elevated qualifications for these new roles. There were employees who did not qualify for an interview. Some of those employees requested a second chance to demonstrate they met the qualifications for these new roles. In response, we created the opportunity for employees to reapply and many did. But it is not lost on us that some good people left the company and while it is always difficult to say goodbye to friends we wouldn’t be a good partner, a great customer service provider, or a great place to work if we did not stay true to our partners’ requirements and goals. We encourage anyone applying for a position with Corvias to be sure to provide an updated resume that reflects their qualifications and to fully respond to the pre-screen questions.

Pros

Benefit packages were always good. The packages are changing though. The pros far from outweigh the cons with this company at the current time.

Cons

Company has always been top heavy. Staff at the bottom are overworked due to cut backs on the bottom and are not compensated or shown appreciation for what they do. Management takes credit for the things their employees do but will throw you under the bus the minute they mess so Thing up to try and make theirselves look better. A lot of management positions are filled by persons that do not know what they are doing or understand key aspects of their positions. The PM staff was just cut in half. Basically every PM employee was fired and had to reapply for new positions. People were kept that do not have a clue what they are doing while some that were great at their jobs and had been their years were let go and told they did qualify!

We understand your concern. As we’ve communicated directly with our employees, in order for us to better respond to our partners, we have to restructure our teams and our current roles to address the changing needs of our programs. We have identified new roles with new responsibilities and everyone had an opportunity to apply. We know it's difficult to say goodbye to friends, which is why we have taken a compassionate approach and have given everyone impacted ample notice and generous resources. Change isn't always easy, but for those who are staying we believe their new opportunities will provide them with professional and personal growth. We'd also like to respond to your comment about visiting each installation and spending time with employees. If you were here last year you may recall when one of our owners did just that. He visited each installation more than once, talked with employees and received a lot of feedback. A number of significant changes were made in response to those visits. We do care deeply about each of our employees and we want them to know they have a voice. If any team member feels they're not being treated fairly, they should speak with a manager whom they trust.
