Nice work while it lasts

Pros

Some very nice people, excellent work/life balance (for me, anyway), nice facility, excellent benefits (when I was there, though vacation time could be increased). Few people actually knew what my job entailed, so I had a lot of autonomy and often worked independently. This was good in that it made my job relatively low in stress and the work/life balance was very good.

Cons

Palpable feeling that everyone is replaceable and that one's job is temporary. I saw many cycles of hiring and downsizing as the company struggled to figure out its direction. I rarely felt integral to my department or the company overall; I was often not included in briefings and overlooked for the recognition that many of my peers received (though my work was good, often excellent). So I would say that recognition is inconsistent.

Good company

Pros

The people who work here support each other!! There are exceptions, of course, but almost everyone looks out for each other, the company, and our customers. I feel good working for a company that truly does care about it's employees and customers. For the most part, the company does follow it's own culture, missions, values, and Core Principles. (again, there are always exceptions). If you want to grow in your career, either on the same path or a different path, you can speak up and the company will help you grow, even relocating when there are no opportunities at your location. I have asked for growth help along my career path and received it! Quickly! Most management wants to help their teams grow and move on! An additional bonus for working parents: PAID 12 week maternity leave for women and one week paid for men.

Cons

Some ups and downs, management changes direction every 1-2 years and the messaging can be confusing. However, if you hold on for the ride it eventually smooths out and does get better with most changes. Sometimes leadership seems to forget our values and culture and becomes profit driven to a fault, but generally comes back to recognize the errors. Ownership doesn't tend to forget, it's the next level of leadership that does.

Pros

Great co-workers and small office environment. Sometimes busy but nothing you cant get done in a week's time. Working with military members everyday is a plus.

Cons

Not enough opportunity for advancement unless willing to relocate. Pay is not the greatest. Took 90 days for benefits to kick in.
