Pros

Base pay and other compensation is above industry standard. There are excellent PTO, insurance and retirement savings match programs. Promotion from within the company is typical.

Cons

Corporate leadership is out of touch with what happens on the ground. Knee jerk decisions are often made due to a lack of understanding by leadership on operations at the neighborhood level. Also, program leaders lack the confidence and foresight to effectively make decisions. As a result, most issues are left unresolved or improperly managed. There is an atmosphere of favoritism and promotion decisions are made based upon who is in the fold rather than merit and experience. More deserving and seasoned candidates who have also filled the roles in the interim without the pay (sometimes for a year or more) are passed up on promotion opportunities then expected to train the individuals who fill the roles without the necessary knowledge or skills to do the job.

Pros

Great environment of people. Very well organized system to complete work orders, move-ins, and move-outs. Administration does all the technical work so that maintenance staff can focus on their work.

Cons

Summer helper position is chaotic. I was told I would be learning maintenance skills, but ended up doing more grunt work.
