Pros

The benefits were good. Pay was comparable to other hospitals in the area. I liked my patients and most of my job duties.

Cons

Management did not listen to their employees needs or concerns for patient care. It was difficult to speak to anyone above you about any problems.

Pros

I couldn't ask for better coworkers. Many of the people that I work with are among the highest caliber people that I have ever met. I love the job itself (if not so much the organization), compensation/benefits are on par with similar roles in the area. My own immediate manager (who is actually the assistant to the manager and is just filling the role because they fired the last manager over half a year ago and still haven't filled the position...), is competent and *seems* to understand the concerns of staff ...

Cons

... but said manager has little real power to effect change. Breaks? What are breaks? Leadership? What leadership? The administration is always saying that they're here for us when we need them, that they're listening to our concerns, etc. and yet nothing ever changes, they're only ever seen when JCAHO or the state are around for an inspection, or to hassle nurses over seemingly trivial matters when there are glaring systemic problems remaining unaddressed (e.g., safe staffing ratios)
