Pros

Great co workers, decent health insurance, 8 hours CTO every two weeks.

Cons

Always dangerously short staffed No holiday pay unless you are PRN staff Cannot move to other departments, they hire from outside rather than move you to another floor Workload is ridiculous

Poor management; rampant nepotism; good ole boy environment.

Pros

Work for Covenant Health if you need a job but don't depend on 1) advancement , 2) effective management, 3) interest in your career goals, 4) mutual respect, or 5) acceptance of diverse workforce.

Cons

Rampant nepotism; unqualified middle-management (no leadership skills); demeaning and non-trusting attitude towards employees, (cameras with fish-eyed lenses and face-recognition capabilities throughout office areas - web-based camera feeds are viewable by anyone with the password); guidelines and rules are different depending on who you know or who you are related to; cliques; hard-work not recognized; 1% annual raises. Work this job while you are looking for a better one where people are mutually respectful and work together.

Pros

Higher pay due to union contracts, accrual of time off is higher than average, union contract allows more flexibility in time off

Cons

This facility hires people on a part-time basis then works you on a full-time basis from day one without ever changing your status. Since the Affordable Care Act has nullified the unions contract regarding benefits for healthcare, the PT employees no longer qualify for health benefits. In spite of the FT hours, employees remain classified as Part time so this facility completely avoids providing benefits to its employees in this fashion. Additionally, this facility works in a chronic understaffed condition such that many employees do not get their breaks during the work day resulting in an 8 hour shift with zero break time.
