Pros

Lots of work if you are squared away. Managers are accommodating and knowledgeable. Gas card, paid travel time (at minimum wage, but at least it's something).

Cons

You can become a victim of your own success. They will throw a lot of work your way if you do a good job and it can become overwhelming.

Pros

I have worked for CoventBridge Group for about three, almost four years as an SIU/L&H investigator. The managers, in my experience, are responsive and helpful. While always professional they will not hesitate to call you out if you make a mistake but it’s usually in a constructive manner. For the most part they are patient and allow us to learn and get better as we progress through various types of investigations. If you are wondering what SIU and L&H is then this probably is not the job for you. It stands for Special Investigative Unit and Life and & Health. My division is for more experienced investigators in the industry or investigate questionable slip and fall cases, accidents and disability cases. I have direct contact with claimant’s, employers, attorneys, judges and many other individuals during the day. Honestly, upon reflection, my job has a lot of responsibility and Coventbridge has faith in me to represent the company in a professional manner. The pay is good. Sometimes it gets tricky as you bill for time worked on individual cases. 5 minutes here, 20 minutes there. It’s important to do updates often to be compensated for your efforts and not easy to keep track of but the over-all pay check combined with challenges of the work make it a pretty decent job. The report writing is no joke. Often it’s a daunting task and becomes a job security issue as not everyone can write a good report. If you can write a decent report and can present well as an investigator to other professionals this is a good job for you. The benefits are very good, in fact, they are excellent. I cherish my medical insurance and appreciate that Dave Merrill forced an upgrade over the old Global Options medical plan which was the worst I have seen. To be specific, when ICS/Merrill and Global Options merged, the new company took on the medical plan held by Global Options. The plan was manageable for a single person but absolutely horrible for a family. In fact, it was far worse than you could get by yourself on the open market. Employee brought this to Dave Merrill’s attention and he almost immediately reacted by firing the old Global Options human resources company and getting rid of their terrible medical plan. He picked up the more expensive human resources company and a FAR superior benefits package. The 401k is nice, the free disability insurance is nice, the dental plan is very good, the vision insurance is good. I have read people complaining about days off on other reviews. The starting vacation time is two weeks off with it growing each year. After like 5 years you get 4 weeks off and two paid holidays. Frankly, I feel like I am taking advantage if I am taking four weeks off from my work but they want more? I am not sure what more you want and expect the company to succeed.

Cons

I have read the negative reviews and simply do not agree with them. Sure, there are always things that could be improved upon, like the travel pay perhaps, but overall the end result is well worth the effort put in. I really have no complaints. I mean I set my own schedule, I work without anyone breathing down my neck, I do and see new things every day, I get paid fairly, I have respectful supervisors, I get raises every year, I have great benefits….uhhh….nope……no complaints.

Pros

There is a certain level of autonomy.

Cons

Just about everything else, i.e., work/life balance, training, pay, support, benefits, etc.
