Feeling Optimistic

Pros

Plenty of work and I am always busy with interesting work. Great immediate supervisors. It feels like the merger instability and necessary downsizing is over. I am feeling optimistic about the companies stability, direction and opportunities.

Cons

Merging two companies meant duplicate positions were eliminated and it is hard to see friends moving on and being downgraded from a head office to a satellite office. I don't like change but I understand it is sometimes necessary. I feel the Jacksonville office is promoting people that they personally know well which is understandable but means Orlando staff gets the short stick.

Thank you for your constructive review. We continue to enhance workflows to help employees be most effective in their respective roles and we have some flexibility with overtime as needed. As we evaluate candidates for new roles, we consider many factors, but location is often not a major consideration. Many roles can be performed remotely. While we have two major locations, we are one company and will do our best to select the best candidate. Please share any concerns with your manager and feel free to escalate to the next level if needed.

Former Management

Pros

Having a job is the only Pro this company will provide you. Simply the Peace of Mind of having a job I guess would be considered a pro.

Cons

This is an honest review by a former case manager at Coventbridge. I have several contacts within the industry who are former employees or still work at this company. I am taking the time out of my day to warn you or anyone you know that is considering working as an investigator or a manager for this company. You are going to put yourself in a bad position and I'm trying to prevent that from happening.Trust me when I say this to you. Any positive review this company is getting is being done so internally. These are not being posted by people with authentic opinions. So as you read through these Glassdoor reviews keep that in mind. In addition you can also see a post where executive management actually had to come on this site for damage control. You know you have a serious issue when upper management has to do that. Coventbridge is the product of a merger between ICS Merrill and Globaloptions. The CEO of this company is the former CEO of ICS Merrill, Dave Merrill. Simply Google ICS Merrill fraud alert and you'll see what kind of company Dave Merrill ran prior. From day one Dave Merrill has lied to his employees or should I say former Global options staff. He stated a new company would be created bringing in the best of both worlds from the previous two companies. Over the past year-and-a-half Dave Merrill has hijacked this company and turned it into ICS Merrill 2.0 under the guise of Coventbridge. He has systematically removed Globaloptions management from the COO to several RVPs. If you don't see it Dave's way you're gone. As you can see by the many disgruntled employee post on here that strategy is not working for him. The company model is to work any case anytime anywhere. Anyone who knows this business understands this is a joke. The unbelievable amount of stress that puts on a case manager and investigators is unreal and more importantly unfair. Here is what you can expect as an investigator. Like mentioned above you will be expected to work every case anywhere anytime. You will be working on an outdated investigator reporting system call Smart Partner. You will be nickeled and dimed at every turn and docked for work you should be getting paid for. Your manager will be a stressed out overwhelmed individual who is forced to see you as nothing but a number. Not that they want to but it is the way the system is set up with. If you step into a management role here's what you can expect. Nothing will ever be good enough. You can have 70 cases on your board and them all running smoothly but your boss JF will tell you you're worthless and if he was doing your job it would be done perfect. You can also expect to have your job threatened at every conference call without a doubt. I'm not exaggerating you will be told you were worthless and if you think you're going to lose your job well you probably are.

The vast majority of our managers have acclimated very well to the combined company. Of course, the positive reviews are internal. There are many associates here who are very satisfied and I can assure you they are authentic. We certainly have areas for improvement, as does any company. I personally responded to the email mentioned, not for “damage control”, but because most of the items in the subject posting were completely false. We have way too many people here doing a great job, and treating it like a career, to let anonymous, fabricated complaints go unanswered. We’ll move forward with the talented group of professionals we have.

Pros

The only pro about working here was that the job was easy and took no effort on my part. It was just editing reports and video footage. Also, I liked my coworkers.

Cons

First off, I could write a novel about all the cons....but I'll stick to the main points. The pay is low, the management/way they communicate is a joke, and it's horrible how they have phased out the Quality Control (QC) department in the Orlando office. When I started here last year in QC, there were about 30 editors at one point. Then after December, they started laying off pretty much all of us in groups. By the end of April, there were under 10 editors left. We were essentially told that all job opportunities in the company were basically in Jacksonville and other departments within the company and it's been heavily implied that the QC department would eventually just die off (at least in the Orlando office). For most of 2017, there has been just a sense of foreboding dread hanging over the department. Anyway, they tell us less than a month ago that they aren't looking to eliminate any further QC positions. Or at least that we would have some warning if this changed. Let's just say if you are going to allow an employee to be able to work from home, it looks pretty shady and unprofessional to lay them off less than a week later... and to play it off like it was "a sudden decision" that you had no possible advance knowledge of. Just saying :) With all that said, I hope that everyone who has had the unfortunate experience of being laid off by this place has been /is able to move on to better opportunities.

CoventBridge continually evaluates the optimal level and deployment of resources to best serve our customers. As a result of the adjustments made above, and our current expected growth, we do not anticipate any additional actions regarding staffing levels. We appreciate the importance of excellent communication and will continue to make it a priority in keeping our staff informed of developments which may affect them, whether positive or otherwise.
