Pros

I have been a field investigator with this company since it was International Claims Specialists (13 years). It has grown every year and will continue to do so for many more. The growth has occurred due to client satisfaction and mergers/acquisitions of other smaller companies. CoventBridge is currently the largest investigation company in the world. Therefore, there is job security if you are competent in your job and you do your required duties. The organization has a solid foundation for work flow and it has been in place for decades. The 401K’s matching program is excellent. I have been with the company for over 13 years and I get approximately 5.5 weeks of paid time off every year with the option to carry over 1 week into the next year. New hires get 2 weeks of PTO a year. The benefits offered are decent. You can have the flexibility to manage your schedule and you work autonomously. If you are adept at working claims and surveillance cases, it opens more doors regarding your case load and additional pay. Investigators deal directly with most clients and it also opens more doors for additional work, accurate work and builds a personal relationship with them, which results in returning clients due to their satisfaction. The video uploading process is being streamlined and redesigned to be more efficient. There are opportunities for advancement into management positions. Just this week we were sent a notice that there are several management openings waiting to be filled. Moreover, you can work remotely in your home office without having to relocate to another state. The company has a tuition reimbursement program if you want to take college or industry focused classes, which can improve your work product and make you a more valuable asset to the organization. The company prides itself on being a fast paced and client satisfaction oriented organization that also focuses on its employees.

Cons

With a company of over 500 remote investigators nationwide, you will be a “just a number”; at least at first. Proven and consistent positive work product will result in you going from being “just a number” to a “go to guy” when a high profile case comes in. This is not a Monday-Friday/9-5 job and anyone in this industry should already know that. The early or late hours on weekends and holidays can be a pain; however, that it what is required to be successful.

Pros

I get paid every two weeks.

Cons

With any company merger there are bound to be challenges. Considering the "plan" was in the works for over a year, there appears to be a complete absence of forethought. David Merrill could best be described as something between a tyrant and a petulant child. He and "his" (ICS Merrill) executive team have shown obvious favoritism toward former ICS Merrill employees and processes regardless of the demonstrated abilities and proven track record of that of the former GlobalOptions. Funny considering the latter was the supposed acquirer. Spending months not knowing whether or your job was safe is nothing less than stressful.

Pros

The pro's went out the door back in March when Dave Merrill bought Global Options. With that being said, there are no pro's and you may want to read the next box moving forward.

Cons

With that merger brought the end of the company paid holidays at least for the investigators. The office staff still have all there paid holidays. Then again, according to the management, the investigators are quoted as "Front Liners" and are expendable. Also all the investigators lost a weeks paid vacation. All in all, that's $3000 per investigator back in Dave Merrill's pocket. They used to give the investigators $0.15 a mile while billing the clients $0.55 a mile, now no miles are paid to the investigators. Instead now they give you fuel cards and cell phones to for only one purpose and that's to track you. The reporting system also requires you to have a PHD to navigate versus the much more proficient and user friendly Global Track system that Global utilized. Your expenses are taxed which makes no sense. Lastly with the merger, there are too many investigators to get work cause there are now two companies to feed work to. Former ICS Merrill employee's didn't get work before and now it's a company wide epidemic. Stay clear from this company as many of us are also looking. In the last 2 months approximately 50 investigators and case managers have left and that may double in the months to come.
