Pros

ICS and GlobalOptions have merged this should benefit the field investigators ? Global's report system is the best in the industry. Global's investigative team is thought to be the most professional, experienced and dedicated individuals that have migrated from the other investigative ventures to the benefit of Global Options not needing a sales team because the work product was excellent.

Cons

Before the merger I was with Global for over four years. No cost of living increase. Now In addition to no pay increase, four paid holidays have been taken away which means my yearly income is now cut. Here lately have been putting in a lot of hours but most of them are paid at minimum wage as travel time, report time and upload video time. Having to work 8 to ? day's in a row with maybe one day off and that day is used to prepare for up coming case's. Serious investigator burnout is on the horizon which results in client case work dissatisfaction. The investigative pool to choose from has dwindled due to Investigator state training and educational requirements not to mention new generation work ethic. The tide has turned making your present day investigators the company's most valuable commodity.

Pros

The online reporting system is very succinct. It is detailed and somewhat simple to learn. There is a bonus program in place, however it is extremely difficult to achieve. Management offers no explanation as to how the equation determines profitability, which is what the bonus is based upon. Compensation can always be better no matter how much one is paid, but I have found this to be fair. Immediate management (Case Managers) are very competent (at least in my area), and have proven themselves in the field, so they can be respected in their leadership position.

Cons

Since the ICS/Merrill merger with GlobalOptions, I have no idea who is who and what is going on. Overnight, the workload decreased by at least half, without reason nor explanation. I've had to take on two other part time jobs in order to even come close to paying my bills. To add insult to injury, the job boards are advertising for openings in my area with the company, the same area that is "saturated" with GOOD, SOLID, RELIABLE, PROVEN investigators! We aren't being told anything, and when we ask, we are told "things are in the works". Very, very frustrating. There is also NO chance for upward advancement. The position in which you are hired is the position where you will STAY!
