Pros

CMM was my best place to work and grow for the longest time. Amazing coworkers (for now, losing people every day)

Cons

All these changes being implemented by McKesson are making me and a lot of other employees nervous. Turnover is very high now and we are losing some amazing people. I understand that we are no longer a start up but we are all paid below average for Columbus and on top of that we now are required to cover our benefits. We are getting a slight pay increase ($3000 per employee) but it is not enough to offset everything. Everyone is either scared for the future or leaving and it is so sad to see this happen to such an amazing company. I came to CoverMyMeds because I believed in our mission but I stayed because of my amazing coworkers and I truly felt like CMM cared about me. That is no longer the case and I feel like this next year will be the hardest year yet.

Thank you for your honesty and willingness to share your experience. We work hard to engage our employees and help make CoverMyMeds their best place to work and grow. I’m disappointed to hear you are feeling nervous and sad — it’s not the experience we want you to have. Change is a constant at CoverMyMeds as we continue to achieve remarkable growth. We expect that may continue as we unify under one CoverMyMeds team. While this exciting transformation will position us and our business for long-term growth and success, we know that changes impact us differently. I hope you’ll continue to trust our leaders and your teammates as we navigate the path to our bright future. Our culture is shaped and owned by all of us, and I hope you’ll participate in adding to it. Feel free to connect with me directly if you’d like to share more of your constructive criticism. — Lachandra Baker, Senior Manager, Employee Engagement

It was great until it wasn't

Pros

I truly loved the people that I worked with. So many great and smart folks who are willing to help out and support each other. Honestly the only thing I miss are the folks I interacted with day to day.

Cons

Don't believe the replies to these reviews that "we are competitive nationally salary wise". This is just blatantly wrong, especially with the current demand for ruby developers. Getting a salary bump was like pulling teeth, especially if you were a top performer with less years experience than peers. Literally more work for less pay. Many more companies are open to remote work, and CMM will continue to hemorrhage talent until they fix the individual contributor career track and bring salaries up to meet what other companies are willing to pay. McKesson just gutted the Cadillac healthcare plan that CMM had, which was the golden handcuffs for many. Expect to see much more attrition than they are already suffering.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and feedback! I agree that our employees are some of the best in any company, anywhere! I am always amazed at the talent and compassion of our staff. I am glad you were one of them and appreciate your efforts to support our mission. Any transformational change is hard. CoverMyMeds has had its fair share over its 13-year existence. We have all been learning and growing through it all. We haven’t always been excellent in our execution of the changes, but I do believe the leadership team has really tried to keep the employees at the center of every decision they made. Some of those decisions were well-received, while others were difficult to hear. As we continue to evolve, we look to our employees to help us navigate this journey together. Our culture depends on it. We must hold each other accountable, while also giving grace for mistakes and missteps. Every employee must look at their own personal situation and decide if we will continue to be their best place to work and grow. Our leaders and talent management team will work hard to earn our employee’s trust and offer an inclusive and engaging environment where passionate people can do remarkable things to develop their careers and support our mission. – Lachandra Baker, Senior Manager, Employee Engagement

Pros

Growth opportunities, diverse workplace, healthcare benefits, a lot of autonomy, perks including homemade lunch and free parking downtown, educational programs to further your skills in coding, SQL, leadership and other areas.

Cons

Resourcing - making sure the right teams have the right amount of people to get the job done. CMM sometimes struggles with this.
