Excellent company, horrible product and technology leadership

Pros

Benefits, culture, and people (in general) are fantastic

Cons

The Chief Product officer and technology officer are in way over their heads. No strategic direction, immature management style and completely clueless of talent recognition. If you are from Vermont and fit the acutely defined demographic, then you may stand a chance. How this team is still surviving is mystifying !

Pros

Compensation is fairly decent. Good people.

Cons

Executive leadership of the last few years has been extraordinarily weak across Cox Automotive ...and the promoting of those weak individuals is staggering. Dealertrack and dealer.com has brought us some promising leadership and just holding my breath that they will have some answers. Health benefits are pretty bad.

Pros

The building is heated during the winter and cooled during the summer, the parking lot is a short walk from the building with a covered walkway. Benefits are good, but not as good as they claim

Cons

This place is a total mess, multiple departments performing duplicate projects, no central strategy at all. Merging Autotrader and Manheim into one 'company' has caused confustion and demoralisation of many of the technical staff who are leaving like crazy as soon as they find somewhere less stressful to work. As the company is spread across town, much time is wasted driving to and from meetings. There are way to many meetings as it appears middle management would prefer to talk about things instead of producing anything.
