Pros

Health benefits are top-notch. DISCOUNTED services. Start at home(saves on gas).

Cons

When I started working for Cox in 2006, it was a relaxed environment. You could do your job and not feel like you had people looking over your shoulder. Techs were relaxed and could take time to ensure customers were treated properly. If you got a job done early you could go to lunch early and not get a phone-call about it. Now, there's GPS in all vehicles. Every step you take is monitored andTechs are continually expected to do more with less and less time. I get times are rough, but it is no longer about taking care of the customer, its about squeezing an extra dollar out of the customer. This company owned by Two wonderfull ladies has become a money monger. If you have a choice, do not work for this company. Like myself, many people are leaving the company they once loved to work at, to find a new place. A friend of mine left after 28 years because it was too stressful. He no longer loved his job. Do not walk in the doors of the this place expecting to leave work feeling fullfilled. If a high-stress, low-return environment where you are constantly expected to do MORE MORE MORE is what you want out of life, then this is the place for you. I wouldn't be suprised if this last Employee Opinion Survey is the last they ever do. The ship is sinking.

Pros

Conveniently located close to residential area, good for part time employment, however, look for other opportunities. Very structured work environment when it comes to metrics. Some training is very thorough. If you have the skillset to become a field tech, that's the best department to work in. Some good work ethics policies set in place. Field technicians are the best when dealing with the customers. Have really nice approach and very knowledgeable with installing and fixing the services.

Cons

Some negative and rude people work there. Dress code is a little too lax for a Corporate environment with the exception of field techs. The overall operating system for their video, cabling, and telephone systems is much too complex for the employees to work with and should be something a little more user friendly without having foreign error messages that only the computer programmers can understand. A little disharmony between employees which could fit many different company types. Some trainers are a little too distracted and need to be a little more focused when training their employees. If the company expects the employee to attend training, then some of the trainers need to give 100 percent of their time to training. A little too much micro management. Management needs to learn to have a little more faith in the employees that they choose, then they would not need to micro manage employee's work.

Pros

The best reasons to work for Cox Communications are, first and foremost, the Cox culture. The company actively promotes diversity in the workplace, and embraces personal accountability. Attrition is relatively low at Cox because of a company secret: employee job satisfaction is the secret ingredient for customer satisfaction. Finally, at Cox, employees all share in the company's success, and they have many options to take their careers in the direction they want. They can even relocate to another Cox market, from coast to coast.

Cons

Having to work for a living, otherwise, its a good company.
