Pros

Overall a good company to work for. Good benefits, executive management seems to care about employees. Processes are typically mature, managment mostly strives to do the right thing.

Cons

Somewhat cliquish... have to really know someone with hiring authority to be on fast track.

Pros

I've worked for multiple managers and supervisors and they all follow the Cox Culture of valuing the employee and family. Any time I've had personal situations going on, all managers I've worked for have made it very easy to get thru those situations by allowing use of personal time and being supportive. Cox Communications also provides opportunities for higher education by providing reimbursement benefits.

Cons

I really don't have any negative comments, I do believe that sometimes circumstances (positions) and individuals (skill-set) may not be a good match for the goals at hand but I see this more as human error than something I would hold against Cox the company.

Pros

Good pay and phenomenal benefits

Cons

The hiring process is horrible and training is even worse. The trainer prides himself on the fact that every class he trains files complaints to HR at the end of training, and he's more than willing to sharethis fact. Their attrition rate is 65%. They say their main goal is to get that number down, but when you find reasons to fire employees, that number will NEVER go down. And then they say there was an "internal conflict" but won't say what it was and won't provide any paperwork. This company has an AWFUL reputation across the Omaha area, and they wonder why. Another number that I found interesting that they tell you within the first few days of training: 1 person out of a hiring class of 30 will make it to a year. And 1 out of 10 that make it a year will make it to 3 years, but they say if you make it to 3 years, you'll never leave.... good luck getting that far though. If you want a short-term job where management sucks and treats you like kindergartners... this is for you.
