Pros

Very good employee discount. Every tv channel and 250 mgb internet for like $30 mo

Cons

Worked for the company for 8 years (last 3 years in retention) Went through 3 different managers last 3 months. Commission is shaky and very very unreliable. Projected to lose $16000 this year. Company did not care. Everyone is now cheating the commission stricture because that is the only way to make a paycheck. I left after missing the 3rd month in a row. The end of the pandemic and the increased inflation and coming recession has made this job impossible. RAMPANT CHEATING ESP BY 3rd PARTY REPS. Company sends work to Mexico and other countries, these reps suffer to ramifications for lying to customers, hanging up or simply not disconnecting the customers account.

Pros

You get 192 hours of pto a year, which may sound like a lot, but you can’t get get away from this dreaded job enough.

Cons

The flow of information is laughable, I’ve worked for cox for 4 years in multiple departments all revolving around sales or customer service. The information received between different markets or heck even different managers is completely different. There is no consistency, and as with most large corporations the guys at the bottom of the ladder are expected to just catch up. As a top sales rep in the company I find it hilarious how unprepared their front line employees are. Those who are expected to have and relay information to the customer to provide a good experience are simply ignorant to what is happening behind the scenes. The sales goals are consistently going up and cox fails to compensate for the lack of traffic or actual sales that are coming through the door which equates to less money. There are markets/ stores expected to perform as they were pre Covid, and this just isn’t reasonable, if a simple market analysis was done in sure they would be able to see this too but at this point they don’t have to pay their employees nearly as much as they were making in previous years, so ultimately it’s in their favor to not do so. 2 years ago I would say this was a great company to work for, and they care for their employees and customers, but now it’s a very different story. I would encourage anyone seeking employment with a stable company to look elsewhere, there are better places to work that care more.

Pros

The best part about Cox is the culture and mentorship you can get if you are on the right team. I’ve been able to grow my career at Cox and deliver meaningful work. They do care about your career goals and give you the tools to succeed. Benefits are great and most of the leaders are very accessible. With COVID, the company has embraced WFH for the better and the flexibility is amazing.

Cons

Only key issue is that the company is how traditional they are with compensation. Being a younger high performer will get you promotion, but the salary doesn’t match the work. YOE and tenure is highly valued and we have seen talent go elsewhere for 30-40k bumps.
