      Pros

      As a server there was pretty much always an opportunity to pick up shifts. Money is decent if you work during the peak times

      Cons

      There is quite a bit of turnover I think due to the amount of work is now being required by serving staff. The side work at my restaurant was ridiculous considering the fact that we were extrememly busy and still had to somehow find a way to roll a ridiculous amount of silverware alongside doing another given sidework Management tends to be a pain in the behind but that’s a given with basically any place of work Shift times can be annoying As you are sometimes scheduled to work 4 hour shifts that are mostly never worth it

      Paid tips in cash nightly No tip sharing or tip pooling at all More casual environment Friendly staff in all areas Easy to trade shifts and request time off 50% off employee meals and discounts in store Ongoing training/paring up keeps it kind of interesting for brand new servers Easy to cross train to other areas Can make great money in mornings and have nights off for friends and family

      Cons

      Favortism with certain managers Have to share tables larger than 8 guests Rolling silverware No bussers or food runners 1 or 2 table sections on Sundays Cheaper establishment so lower tips on average You will work every holiday and it will be slammed, with guests and 20+ other servers If a position in BOH like grill lacks bodies, you might be moved to do that part time
