PAR 3 - Retail Sales Associate/Cashier
Pros
-Quickly move up the ladder in PAR level -Employees get along as if they were family -Training is okay (however needs improvement) -Meetings are fun and give good information -Home office is friendly -Flexible for students and busy employees -Easy to navigate employee website -Discount for employees and meals on the clock (20% - 35% for regular discount, 50% for meals on the clock) -Team makes sure you are up to date on all happenings in the store -Communication is very good -Great first job experience, I've learned a lot about people and how to work with them
Cons
-EXTREMELY low hours during slow periods of the year -Unnecessary micromanagement by managers is crazy (also some of them are cocky) -Uniform is pretty annoying -Guests can be insane during busy times -Restaurant management seems to not care as much about retail/cashiers whenever they need assistance with a guest or with cash functions. Several times when management is required at the cash register, they come extremely late and sometimes hours past when they were originally needed. -PAR tests are outdated and mix restaurant questions with retail -Cashier/Retail Sales should remain as 2 separate jobs, not 1 together -Retail and restaurant seem to be 2 different stores at times, not very good at merging together -Cash registers were set to be updated in Feb. 2018, yet it is May and there are still no updates to our store's system -Closers are expected to do WAY too much at night as one person, there should be an extra person staying with the cashier.
