      Great place to work, questionable direction in IT

      Pros

      The pay, benefits, and work/life balance are excellent. The CEO takes a personal interest in your well-being.

      Cons

      The direction in IT is, in my opinion, a bit misguided. The director is focused on purchasing or contracting all development, and this isn't working out as well as it seems on paper.

      Pros

      Generous benefits package & an undisputed commitment to safety. When it comes to the latter, the company truly does walk the walk.

      Cons

      It's 2015, not 1995. From the "open" floor plan (it's a cubicle farm) to leadership's inability to have a work-related conversation--no matter how mundane--outside of a scheduled meeting, Crowley's Jacksonville headquarters is where new ideas & inspired new hires go to die. Recognition & promotions is reserved for those with several years of service, not talent. Lack of true leadership.
