Not Crunchyroll anymore

Pros

Crunchyroll before the Funimation/Sony merger. When Crunchyroll was owned by ATT and Warner it was a great place to work. The work culture was amazing and everyone was so amazing. The company cared about the customers and employees. After the merge it seems like a lot of the Crunchyroll employees from before the merger were not appreciated anymore. The work culture changed and it wasn't a great place to work anymore. Funimation slapped Crunchyroll's name on their brand and is taking credit.

Cons

Upper does not take feedback seriously. Even with free lunch, the quality has gone down. There are obvious favoritisms that makes it unfair to other employees.

Do more. Get paid less.

Pros

There's a significant advantage if you're male. Around 70% of individuals holding director positions or higher are men.

Cons

At Crunchyroll, if you're in the highest tier of your payment "band," instead of a merit increase, you'll receive a lump sum. While this might seem fine initially, the issue arises when this lump sum doesn't grow over time. In fact, in subsequent years, it may even decrease. Get ready for a workplace where the expectation is to do more and work harder, yet your earnings diminish year after year.

Great Company, Lots of Change

Pros

Pay and benefits are great. The people you work with are genuinely incredible (I walked by the president in my first week and he knew my name. Crazy!) Lot’s of opportunities to make an impact. It certainly isn’t boring! There’s always something big to do but usually you can collaborate with other creative people. If you like fast, this is your place.

Cons

This is a con that could be a pro. Crunchyroll feels like a startup that is rapidly trying to grow up. Since the merger with Funimation, there’s been a ton of change as the business tries to get there and build scalable operations. The change is good, it needs to happen, but that might not be for everyone.
