Pros

-flexible work hours -1 WFH day a week based on tenure & merit -community of coworkers -free coffee -approx 70-90% of health care plan paid (based on tier) -informal manager to subordinate relationship

Cons

- senior management prides themselves on being transparent but lacks transparency. For example, layoffs were promised multiple times not to happen & they cut more than 10% of workforce in May. -Current employers have to take a one week furlough and are told to take that with pride since we still have jobs. Pay raises and full bonuses were not given, even though they were based on 2019 performance. Pay raises and bonuses are not expected in 2020. -senior management projects a “holier than tho” complex about Cvent and does not give a realistic picture about performance -42.5 hours is a standard week - KPIs are not accurately depicting of workload and performance - management does not take enough input from subordinates & often misses the mark with process & product enhancements -sales focused even though the sales team sucks & often over promises items to clients, which we are meant to fix.

Pros

In the 14 months I spent with Cvent I learned a great deal from an insanely supportive team and manager. Within individual teams there is a lot to be said about peers helping each other to improve professionally. Several amenities in the office are nice, including the nitro coffee and the access to snacks around the floors. Cvent certainly is successful and you will be part of the preeminent event software company (B2B) around the globe.

Cons

Despite the company's success it is clear that the organization is predicated on a solid tech product and brute manpower rather than operating in the sense of good business efficacy. The fact that 42.5 hours is not overtime but a standard schedule on top of hiring people as a solution to near any problem leads me to understand that Reggie and Co. are building out the company for sheer growth, whether that be sustainable or not and whether that be efficient or not. Compensation is far below market as Cvent targets college graduates that don't yet have the bargaining power for a higher asking price. Additionally, promotions and pay increases are slow and low outside of the golden child department of sales-- who seemingly gain promotions at any point out of the semi-annual cycle. If you don't work in sales or tech you WORK for sales and tech and ultimately will be left out of the majority of benefits that the company provides. Cvent has built its post-public growth on hiring and sheer expansion rather than growth and truly applying energy and thought to process and employees
